We cannot start the year in any other way than saying Thank you to each and every one who believes in us
and the support to help us reaching our goals. Every donation – no matter how big or how small – enabled

Printing of 30 000 Workbooks of Themes 1 – 6
• Preparing 25 crates with resources for new teachers who were trained
in December 2023
• Packing the Workbooks and Stationary for 260 teachers
• Distribution all these packs of Workbooks and boxes of Stationary to all
parts of Namibia
A special ‘Word of Thanks’ to Nicky of Waltons for

• All the ladies who knitted dolls to enable us to send the dolls to our students in the various regions.

Last week some of our employees participated in a soccer tournament, hosted by the Round Table of Walvis Bay. The Wesbank team won 2nd prize in the Plate Cup final, and the prize money was vouchers to the value of N$1000-00 from a local supermarket in town. However, instead of keeping the vouchers for themselves, they used them to purchase a hamper of food for a local soup kitchen in Kuisebmond, that feeds 300 children every day. Well done guys, you are an inspiration to all of us! We are so very proud of you!

Fraud Alert!

The purpose of this communication is to alert our clients of a fraudulent scam that has come to our attention. Please be vigilant in the transport of your goods to avoid falling victim to this fraudulent activity.

Description of the Scam

The modus operandi of this scam is that customers buy goods online or on social media. The seller then informs them that goods are ready to be sent, forwards the waybill details and requests payment before the courier will deliver the goods.
The communication from the fraudster might even be followed up by a telephone call confirming that they are from Jet.X Couriers, and that they have received the parcel and are awaiting payment before the items can be dispatched.

Action to Take

We recommend that clients confirm a shipment before payment, by contacting us via telephone or e-mail.
We only accept the following methods of payment:

EFT (Bank confirmation letter can be sent upon request)

Point of Sales (Facilities available at all main branches)

PayToday

We will not request any client to make a payment via e-wallet.

We cannot be held responsible for any loss due to these fraudulent activities.

Wesbank Transport Becomes a Signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code and Achieves Certification

The International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI) announced today that Wesbank Transport, a Division of FP Du Toit Transport (PTY) LTD, based in Namibia, has become a signatory to the International Cyanide Management Code (Cyanide Code) and has been certified in full compliance under the Cyanide Code. The Cyanide Code is a voluntary industry program focused on the safe and environmentally responsible management of cyanide by companies producing gold and/or silver and by companies manufacturing, warehousing, and transporting cyanide. ICMI has received and accepted a Detailed Audit Findings Report prepared by independent professional third-party auditors who evaluated Wesbank Transport against ICMI’s Verification Protocol and found it in full compliance with the Cyanide Code’s Principles and Transport Practices. The Summary Audit Report and Auditor Credentials Form are available on Wesbank’s Signatory Page on the ICMI web site. The operation must be re-audited every three years to evaluate continuing compliance with the Cyanide Code. Wesbank Transport was previously a signatory to the Cyanide Code from 2013 to 2020 and was certified in 2013 and in 2017. The Cyanide Code was developed under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme by a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee, and is amongst the most established certification programs in the mining sector. The Cyanide Code is intended to complement an operation’s existing obligation to comply with the applicable laws and regulations of the political jurisdiction in which the operation is located. ICMI has been established to administer the Cyanide Code, promote its adoption, evaluate its implementation, and manage the certification process for operations using, producing, and transporting cyanide. A detailed list of the operations covered by signatory companies’ applications, along with the full text of the Cyanide Code and its implementing and administrative documents, are available at www.cyanidecode.org.
