The FP du Toit Transport Group has, since its formation in 1968, diversified from a solely long-haul operation to one which includes Jet.X Couriers (an express road and air courier service), Pro Parcel (a part-load and distribution operation), as well as Wesbank Transport (cross border and national transport). This is In line with our strategy to offer our clients a complete range of services to satisfy all their logistical requirements.

The position reports to the Workshop Manager and is based in Windhoek at our Lafrenz Depot.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:
• Service, repair & rebuilds of commercial trailers.
• Inspecting, diagnosing of trailers for maintenance/repairs purposes.
• Replacement of wear items on trailer axles, suspensions & brake systems
• Assist with cross border breakdowns & roadside assistance
• Any other duties in line with the responsibilities of a Trailer Technician.

The suitable applicant will have:
• Be a Namibian Citizen.
• Be a qualified technician with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in trailer repair/maintenance.
• Be able to read wiring diagrams / electrical fault finding.
• Computer literate- Diagnostic Fault finding / Repairs.
• Hydraulic experience will be an added advantage.
• Must have excellent analysing, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans). Other languages will be an added advantage
• Must have high attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Be able to supervise and guide those reporting to him.
• Valid Code CE Driver’s license and Police Clearance Certificate not older than 3 months.
