CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK COORDINATOR

The above-mentioned position is vacant at our Prosperita Premises of the FP du Toit Transport Group. Our company is in existence since 1968 and diversified over time from a solely long-haul operation to one which now includes Pro Parcel (a part-load and distribution operation), Jet.X Couriers (an express road and air courier service) as well as Wesbank Transport (a full-load and abnormal division). This is in line with our strategy to offer our clients a complete range of services to satisfy all their logistical requirements. This position reports to the Business Intelligence Manager and is based in Windhoek.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:
• Prompt and effective customer service, as first point of contact
• Attending to and directing calls and queries to the correct department and staff
• Communicate with Customers via phone and/or e-mail regarding deliveries, delays, collections, etc.
• Assist clients with quotations as/when required
• Follow up on collections (internationally and nationally) and liaise with customers and department heads
• Assist walk-in customers
• Ensure a daily Pick Up and Delivery report is done and escalated to manager
• Liaise with clients regarding Import/Export payments
• Communicate with clearing agents regarding outstanding documents
• Monitor the general market for new business
• Assist staff with calls to customers, which serve at the same time as recordkeeping of such calls
• Any other tasks as directed by department head

The suitable applicant will have
• A valid Grade 12 (with at least 23 points)
• 2-3 years’ experience in the Customer Service Field will be an advantage
• Knowledge of Border Clearances and Paperwork requirements with regards to Imports and Exports
• Knowledge of legislative measures implemented for the Transport Industry
• A high level of accuracy and a high regard for attention to detail
• Good problem-solving skills
• Customer oriented
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills – including ability to multi-task and manage several conflicting priorities
• Professional and confident attitude
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy
• Ability to work on deadlines
• Namibian Citizenship
