These positions report to the Central Africa Manager and is based in Windhoek.
Key responsibilities include:
• Ensure safe and secure, handling, loading and off- loading of consignments. Be present whilst
loading and report any damages, anomalies to Supervisor/Manager prior to departure.
• Safe and secure transport of freight
• Ensure consignments are off-loaded, where applicable and when approved, in designated areas in a safe and secure manner area and obtain the
necessary proof of delivery and other applicable documents from customer.
• Adhere to procedures related to re-fueling, handling of fuel cards, petty cash, etc., in line with Company Policy.
• Complete MDC register/d trip sheets diligently and ensure that these are submitted timeously for calculation and payment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations of the company and client’s sites
• Adhere to road safety regulations
• Adhere to security measures, including unpacking, inspections, quality checks, etc.
• Perform daily pre and post trip, vehicle inspections and reports defects immediately
• Ensure truck and cab is clean and neat at all times
• Ensure all fragile/fridge-line/high value consignments are handled/loaded correctly
• Any other duties in line with the responsibilities of a Line Haul Driver
The suitable applicant will possess:
• A valid Grade 10/12 (with at least 23 points) and be older than 25 years of age
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in driving cross border for Zambia routes
• Knowledge of Zambia routes and mechanical knowledge will be an added advantage
• Valid applicable Code CE Driver’s License with valid PDP and Passport
• Valid Dangerous Goods Certificate will be an added advantage
• Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months) – No criminal record
• Must be efficient in terms of delivering freight timeously without any damages
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
• Customer focused, presentable and good communication skills
• Sober habits
• Namibian Citizenship
