FLATBED DRIVER X 1 (LOCAL) – CONTAINER DEPARTMENT
WALVIS BAY DEPOT
Please note that this advert will run concurrently with an external one.
The position’s key performance areas are:
• Transport and timeous delivery of containers and breakbulk to various customers within the borders of
Namibia and submitting complete documentation upon return.
• Collecting containers and breakbulk from various customers and deliver the same without damages and
correct documents to destination as instructed.
• The driver is responsible for the cargo that is being transported in that he must ensure that the goods
and equipment are handled in a responsible manner to avoid damages.
• Pre-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment- report defects to supervisor immediately.
• Perform tasks as per instruction, complete daily tipsheet’s and MDC Logbook.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time to time and might be reasonably expected form a
Flatbed Driver.
The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Namibian Citizen with a valid, (Code CE) driver’s license and valid PDP (Dangerous Goods).
• Grade 12 with a minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience in the transport industry.
• Police Clearance (not older than 3 months) – No criminal record.
• Hazchem Certification will be an added advantage.
• Must have excellent driving, interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Must have sober habits.
