SIDE LOADER ASSISTANT x 1 – SHORT HAUL
WALVIS BAY DEPOT

The position’s key performance areas are:

• Assist the Side Loader Operator and act as spotter for the side loader operator to ensure safe
manoeuvring of side loader in tight spaces.
• Hooking & unhooking the chains to the container.
• Ensure the locks are secured.
• Attachment of slings, hooks or other devices to lift cargo and guide loads.
• Manoeuvring of equipment according to instructions of the Side Loader Operator and in line with the
operating procedures.
• Cleaning of Side Loaders.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time to time as might be reasonably expected from a Side Loader Assistant.

The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Namibian Citizen.
• Grade 10 with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience in the transport industry.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Code CE driver’s license and valid PDP (Dangerous Goods) will be an added advantage.
• Valid Code of Conduct Certificate (Not older than 3 months).
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Must have sober habits.
