This position reports to the Cross Border Manager and is based at FP Depot in Windhoek.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compile & maintain a fleet list and ensure that this list corresponds with NATIS renewal
notices.
• Responsible for the timeous license renewals of the entire fleet, including ensuring that new
license disks are in place.
• Update fleet list sales & fleet purchase or change of particulars.
• Attend to e-mail correspondence from various colleagues.
• MDC – Collect cross border MDC sheets, compile recon and submit timeously for order/payment.
• Liaise with NATIS office on renewal of trucks & trailers.
• Assist with pre-COF inspections and timeously arrange with Departmental Managers for COF of
their fleet to enable them to arrange pre inspection by Workshop prior to COF.
• Submit roadworthy forms (COF) to NATIS & make the necessary payment to Roads Authority
• Licensing of newly purchased trucks or vehicles or trailer: complete all necessary forms &
check the customs documents for correctness before registering a new vehicle at NATIS.
• Complete forms for 2nd hand vehicles, take vehicle for police clearance (check chassis numbers
on engine correspond with documents) and register.
• Prepare all relevant export documents of trucks sold for export to RSA.
• Assist Cross Border Department with operations and diesel administration.
• Any other duties in line with the responsibilities of a Licensing Officer.
The suitable applicant will have:
• Must be a Namibian Citizen.
• Must have Grade 12 with at least 3 years’ experience as a licensing officer.
• Diploma in Transport Management will be an added advantage
• Must have Code CE Driver’s license.
• Must have excellent computer skills.
• Must be able to take initiative work in a team as well as independently.
• Must be organized, planning skills, high attention to detail and work accurately.
• Must support and co-operate with others, must be able to build relationships.
• Must have high integrity and adhere to principles and values.
• Must be able to persuade, influence and negotiate with others.
• Must be composed and calm with sober habits.
• Must have excellent numerical and verbal abilities (preferably multi-languages) together with
report writing skills.
• Must have a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
