ADMIN / OPERATIONS CLERK X 2 – WALVIS BAY
The position’s key performance areas are:
• Responsible to co-ordinate all trucks transporting containers, Namport and agents.
• Checking that all the necessary documentation required in the movement of containers is prepared and meets administrative, statutory, trade and legal requirements, and is available as required and that all the required documents are delivered to the drivers prior to the departure of trucks
• Co-ordination of all the activities concerning loading and off-loading and shifting of trucks to various points.
• Ensuring that all orders are executed in such a manner that containers are transported within the set time limits to avoid late stack / storage charges.
• Daily pre trip and post trip briefings with drivers.
• Inspect Driver trip sheets on return and check that these are accurately recorded on a daily basis.
• Continuous checking of tracking and contact drivers in cases on no movement for extended period and feedback to all parties throughout the day.
• Daily pre & post trip inspections of truck, recording of fault/repairs on workshop job request forms.
• Perform general office duties and any other duties as may be requested from time to time as might be reasonably expected from an Admin / Operations Clerk.
The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Namibian Citizen and be in possession of a valid driver’s license (Code B).
• Must have Grade 12 with a minimum of 3 – 5 year’s relevant experience in Transport / supply-chain / logistics industry.
• Experience in container scheduling will be an added advantage.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communication skills (preferably multi-languages) as well as good organisational and administrative abilities.
• Must have a high attention to detail, excellent time management skills and the ability to work accurately and be detail conscious and be tough-minded.
• Must have sober habits.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team and have excellent adaption skills and be computer literate.
• Must follow instructions and procedures and support and co-operate with the short haul department.
• Must have good organizational and administrative abilities and have excellent writing & reporting skills.
• Must have high integrity and adhere to principles and values.
• Must have excellent concentration abilities, be able to take initiative and make decisions.
• Must work according to strict deadlines, must have excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to deliver on results and meet customer expectations.
• Must have a valid Code of Conduct – not older than 3 months (Police Clearance).
