LOWBED TRUCK OPERATOR X 1 – MATERIAL HANDLING WALVIS BAY DEPOT
Please note that this advert will run concurrently with an external one.

The position’s main responsibilities are:

• Driving the vehicle on the mine site is the main responsibility.
• Daily pre-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
• Complete daily trip sheet and MDC logbook.
• The driver is responsible for the cargo that is being transported in that he must ensure that the goods and materials used on the truck are handled in a responsible manner and that he does not act negligently.
• Performing any other duties as may be requested from time to time & might be reasonably expected from a Lowbed Truck Operator.

The suitable candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Namibian Citizen.
• Valid Code CE driver’s license and valid PDP (Dangerous Goods) Hazchem Certification will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a heavy vehicle driver.
• Must have excellent driving, interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Must have sober habits.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team.
• Must have good verbal, and written communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must be stress resilient and able to cope with a demanding work life (including long working hours).
• Must have sober habits.

• Must have a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
