GENERAL LABOURER TRUCK LOADING & YARD OPERATIONS X 1 – WALVIS BAY DEPOT

The position’s key performance areas are:

• Cleaning and washing of trucks and other company vehicles.
• Ensure that loads are secured and nets and tarpaulins are properly fastened and assist drivers to secure nets and tarpaulins properly and cover loads.
• Cleaning of yard, ablutions and keeping storage areas (including the manganese storage areas (including the manganese store) in a neat and clean condition.
• Assist with loading and offloading of Manganese load with a forklift.
• Watering of garden.
• Assist with diesel / weighbridge duties as and when necessary.
• Reporting of incidents / accidents to supervisor immediately expected
• Adherence to all Statutory, company and customer, Health Safety and Environmental policies and performing duties in this regard effectively and efficiently.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time to time as might be reasonably expected from a General Labourer Truck Loading & Yard Operations.

The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Namibian Citizen with a valid forklift license and operator’s card.
• Grade 12 with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience as a forklift driver.
• Knowledge of manganese off-loading procedures will be an added advantage.
• Have excellent communication skills – read, write, speak (English and Afrikaans).
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Be able to work in a team as well as independently and under pressure.
• Be hard working with have sober habits.
• Must have a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
