Full-time Wesbank Transport a division of FP du Toit Transport (Pty) Ltd, a Namibian equal opportunity employer, has the following challenging career opportunity for a suitable candidate in Walvis Bay.
DELIVERY DRIVER WAREHOUSE – WALVIS BAY
The position’s key performance areas are:
• Driving the vehicle is the main responsibility.
• Perform pre-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
• Receive list & assure goods to be picked up & delivered correctly.
• Ensure all pick-ups are properly captured on pick-up/delivery notes and noted on freight-lists.
• Transport & timeous delivery of goods to various customers in Walvis Bay, Swakopmund & the surrounding mines & submitting complete documentation on return.
• Complete daily driving list and MDC logbook.
• The driver is responsible for the cargo that is being transported in that he must ensure that the goods and materials used on the truck are handled in a responsible manner and that he does not act negligently.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time to time as might be reasonably expected from a Delivery Driver.
The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:
• Namibian Citizen with a valid Code CE driver’s license.
• Valid PDP (Dangerous Goods) Hazchem Certification will be an added advantage.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a heavy vehicle driver.
• Have excellent communication skills – read, write, speak (English and Afrikaans).
• Must have excellent time management skills to ensure on time delivery of goods.
• Must have high attention to detail, be hard working with have sober habits
• Be able to work in a team, have supervisory abilities and the ability to work under pressure
• Work overtime as and when required.
• Valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
