1 X ADMIN INTERN SHORT HAUL (CONTAINERS) WALVIS BAY DEPOT

The position’s key performance areas are:
To assist the Admin Controllers to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the admin function of the Container Department which includes:
• Receiving, processing and reconciling of job cards / trip sheets on Excel.
• Checking, reconciling & capturing of container movements on Excel & give feedback to manager.
• Filing & managing of trip sheets, gate in-out, fleet control, driver and any other applicable documentation.
• Reconciliation of containers stock counts on a monthly basis & Inform manager of any non-conformance or documentation errors.
• Empty & sort driver’s files.
• Checking and updating project files on quarterly basis & liaise changes with the relevant companies.
• Assist with the ordering of stationary for the Shorthaul department.
• Assist with implementation, maintenance, and compliance to ISO requirements.
• Assist with handling customer queries.
• Carry out reception duties and assist with switchboard duties if operator should be absent or on leave
• Stand-in for Admin Controllers if one should be on leave.
• Create orders on SAP and follow-up on invoices.
• Send verified vehicle check list to workshop, including defect reports.
The suitable candidate will have:
• Namibian Citizenship.
• Grade 12 and studying towards a Diploma/Degree in Transport and Logistics Management
• Basic experience in administration.
• Experience in the transport industry, including the administration of border documents will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages with SAP proficiency being an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of the accounting principles
• Valid driver’s license (Code B).
• Proficiency in English.
• Valid Code of Conduct (Police Clearance Certificate) not older than 3 months.
• Sober habits.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills as well as good organizational and administrative abilities.
• Willingness to learn and the ability to work as part of a team.
• Integrity and adhere to principles and values.
• High attention to detail, work accurately, be able to work under pressure, according to strict deadlines, instructions & procedures.
