GENERAL LABOURER MANGANESE STORE & YARD X 1 – WALVIS BAY DEPOT
Please note that this advert will run concurrently with an external one.

The position’s main responsibilities are:

• Cleaning and washing of trucks and other company vehicles.
• Ensure loads are secured and that nets and tarpaulins are properly fastened.
• Assist drivers to secure nets and tarpaulins properly and cover loads with tarpaulins.
• Cleaning, washing and repairing of tarpaulins.
• Cleaning of yard, ablutions and keeping storage areas (including the manganese store) in a neat and clean condition.
• Assist with loading of Manganese load with a forklift.
• Watering the garden.
• Assist with diesel / weighbridge duties as and when necessary.
• Assist with any other duties as specified by the yard supervisor.
• Reporting incidents / accidents to supervisor immediately.
• Adhere to all Statutory, Company and Customer, Health & Safety and Environmental policies and performing duties in this regard effectively & efficiently.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time as might be reasonably expected.

The suitable candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Namibian Citizen with a valid forklift license and operator’s card.
• Grade 12 with a minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience as a forklift driver.
• Knowledge of manganese off-loading procedures will be an added advantage.
• Have excellent analysing, problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Be able to work in a team as well as independently and under pressure.
• Be hard working with have sober habits.
• Must have a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
