LONG DISTANCE DRIVER X 2 (CROSS BORDER) – LONG HAUL DEPARTMENT WALVIS BAY DEPOT
Please note that this advert will run concurrently with an external one.

The position’s main responsibilities are:

• Ensure safe and secure, handling, loading, and off-loading of consignments. Be present whilst loading and
report any damages, or anomalies to the Supervisor/Manager prior to departure.
• Safe and secure transport of freight.
• Ensure consignments are off-loaded, where applicable and when approved, in designated areas in a safe
manner and obtain the necessary proof of delivery and other applicable documents from the customer.
• Adhere to procedures related to re-fueling, handling of fuel cards, petty cash, etc., in line with
Company Policy.
• Complete MDC register/d trip sheets diligently and ensure that these are submitted timeously for
calculation and payment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations of the company and client’s sites.
• Adhere to road safety regulations.
• Adhere to security measures, including unpacking, inspections, quality checks, etc.
• Perform daily pre and post-trip, vehicle inspections and reports defects immediately.
• Ensure truck and cab is clean and neat at all times.
• Ensure all fragile /high-value consignments are handled/loaded correctly.
• Any other duties in line with the responsibilities of a Cross Border Driver.

The suitable candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:

• Namibian Citizen with a valid passport.
• Code 14, CE Driver’s license (Minimum of 5 years old) and a valid PDP (Dangerous Goods).
• Minimum of Five years’ experience and sound knowledge of Cross-Border operations and the documentation
process.
• Must have good knowledge of destinations: Namibia, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Botswana, Zambia and
Zimbabwe.
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Must have sober habits.
• Must have a valid code of conduct (Police Clearance) not older than 3 months.
