The position reports to the Depot Manager and is based in Cape Town.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include:
• Inspection of goods to be transported to ensure that all is accounted for and goods are sufficiently packaged.
• Supervising the loading of such goods onto vehicles for delivery, including ensuring that sufficient photos is taken of all loads prior to transport and reporting any
deviances related to quantities and packaging to the Customer, prior to transport
• Perform pre-trip briefings, post trip debriefing and capturing information in an effective and efficient manner.
• Planning of loads in such a manner that load timelines, and work efficiency goals are met.
• Managing claims investigations and claims administration.
• Managing reverse logistics.
• Managing staff.
• Ensure up to date on-floor reports through daily follow-ups.
• Ensure trip sheets and manifest are managed correctly and information used to optimize load planning.
• Any other duties in line with the responsibilities of an Operations Supervisor.

The suitable applicant will have:
• A valid grade 12 (with at least 23 points) with a tertiary qualification in Transport/Logistics Management.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a load master in the transport/logistics sector of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level.
• Computer skills and knowledge of Parcel Perfect will be a distinct advantage.
• Attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure.
• A friendly disposition, be customer oriented and have exceptional good English communication skills – read, write & understand.
• Willingness to work over weekends/after hours (overtime).
• The ability to take initiative, to identify and to solve problems that may arise.
• High regard for honesty and integrity.
• Exceptional customer service background and be presentable.
• Police clearance certificate (not older than 3 months) – No criminal record.
• A valid Driver’s license.
• Valid Forklift license will be an added advantage.
• SOUTH AFRICAN Citizenship.
