1 X FLATBED / INTERLINK DRIVER & 1 X (NATIONAL DRIVER) – WALVIS BAY DEPOT


The position’s key performance areas are:

• Transport and timeous delivery of loads to various customers within the borders of Namibia and submitting complete documentation upon return.
• Must record the following info on the following info on the trip sheet: distance travelled, fuel consumption, waybill numbers and cargo.
• Complete MDC Logbook and attach all receipts to the trip sheet.
• Must drive where instructed to transport goods and materials to set destinations.
• Load and unload cargo from the truck.
• The driver is responsible for the cargo that is being transported in that he must ensure that the loads and materials used on the truck are
handled in a responsible manner and he does not act negligently.
• Is responsible for the cargo that is being transported in that he must ensure the loads and materials used on the truck are handled in a responsible manner and he does not act negligently.
• Pre-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment.
• Must know what to do in a break-down situation and must familiarize himself with basic technical aspects of the truck to assist in fault finding during a break down.
• Must be able to perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform any other duties as may be requested from time to time as might be reasonably expected from a National Driver.

The suitable candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Namibian Citizen with a valid, (Code CE) driver’s license and valid PDP (Dangerous Goods).
• Grade 12 with a minimum of 5 year’s relevant experience in the transport industry.
• Police Clearance (not older than 3 months) – No criminal record.
• Hazchem Certification will be an added advantage.
• Must have excellent driving, interpersonal and communication skills (English and Afrikaans).
• Must be able to take initiative and decisions.
• Must have high attention to detail.
• Must have sober habits.
• Driver must have the ability to drive long distances and work long hours when required.
• Must have self-discipline, attention to detail and be reliable.
